Ermelo Sheepfold
Situated in the middle of the beautiful Ermelo Moor (Ermelosche Heide), you will find Schaapskooi Ermelo, the largest sheepfold in the Veluwe region. Home to a flock of about 300 Veluwe moorland sheep, this location plays a crucial role in managing and preserving the surrounding nature reserve. Visitors can witness traditional sheep shearing, enjoy the lamb days in spring, or watch the shepherd and his dogs head out into the heather. The adjacent visitor center offers interactive information about local nature, archaeology, and the history of the sheepfold.
